International Key Supply (IKS) is a leading global supplier of car keys, fobs, key programmers and locksmith equipment — thousands of product types in inventory and a reputation built on providing the very best products available.

IKS engaged 3five to set up, develop and configure a vastly improved store on the Shopify Plus ecommerce platform.

The Challenge

IKS needed one build to do three jobs — all while taming an inventory that had become difficult to navigate on the old site:

• A wholesale portal where customers can buy in bulk with ease.
• A retail site, radically simplified from the previous build, where exact products are easy to identify within a vast inventory.
• An international version of the wholesale site, catering to varying shipping costs and a modified inventory.

The Approach

• Designed a simplified retail experience with a customized design and an improved user interface, built for usability.
• Introduced a “Quick Search” filtering system and broke the catalog into four key sections — tools, keys and remotes, accessories, and brands — plus New Products and Best Sellers, paving a direct path to the exact product.
• Fixed the navigation bar so the menu is accessible from anywhere on the site — no scrolling back to the top to get around.

The Outcome

We handed IKS a much cleaner, more usable store across all three fronts, with vital information and products immediately visible. When users can navigate quickly and with ease, they convert — and that was the top priority of this build.
